__________________________________________________________________ THE ALTDEUTSCHE SCHÄFERHUNDE
This shepherd dog has been bred and selected from old lines of German Shepherds. The differentiating characteristics from his modern cousin are: a tick and long fur which can be either black, black and tan, blue, or sable(the equivalent of the german grey; the dog can also be sable black, silver sable or blue sable with various nuances), a narrow back, smaller ears and a remarkably well-balanced temperament. the "SOLID"This type of dog has a uniform color. The fur is the same color at the base and at the tip.
There is also a liver colored variety, which is rarest of all.
the "SABLES"In this type the hair is a different color at
its base (red to sable pigmentation) and at its extremity (dark pigment).
It is the equivalent of what is known in the anglo-saxon world as
the german “grey” color or the “grey-wolf”
in French. - black sable : the base can go from sable to red and the tip of the hair is black with a black mask on the head.
- silver sable : superb extremely rare color it is composed of a light sable colored base with silver colored tips
- blue sable : equally rare the base of the hair is gold, red or sable and the tip and facial mask are blue. The dog can therefore be gold blue sable, blue red sable or blue sable - l cream : A very light color all over with a black facial mask.
"BI-COLOR"The best known of this type is of course
the “black and tan”
variety with a black coat (it can be more or less extensive) and mask
with the rest of the body having various shades of red or tan. The
dog can also be almost entirely black with only the tips of the paws
in shades of tan.
But there also exist black and silver colors as well as blue and tan (they can be different shades of tan going from the very light to red) colors these are extremely rare as well as the bi-color liver variety.
